Narrative
Rick is a musician in New Orleans who can't seem to find his crowd.
While searching for a venue to play soon he befriends bartender Melanie who's having a faint relationship with Mike, a young heroin addict.
A slow marching anti-coming of age theme, where characters are wondering in perplexity and don't really go anywhere
Black and white results appropriate: it merges the actors in an a-temporal space and enhances the individual personalities.
The reality displayed it's a cut-out of a world of its own. The characters, selfsame from the ones in Kaurismaki's stories, live in a rummy everyday life, speak without truly communicating, they make you smile but they also leave you with a veil of bitterness.
They are paradoxical, as indeed is the title given to the short, they move in closed spaces, apparently tied by a thread that joints them, they live their solitudes which they transmit with great intensity.

On the 25th of April, the Bajgain family of Nepal had everything: a house, farm, garden, cattle, and a happy life. But the earthquake that struck just before noon changed everything: the Bajgain family lost it all, even their vegetable garden.
Along with Michael Fanasci, a general contractor from New Orleans, Louisiana and Manoj Ghimire, a native Nepali student enrolled in Westminster College, Missouri; RHB Productions traveled to Nepal to assist the Bajgain family of Nanglebhare in their efforts to rebuild as well as help others we encountered along the way from orphans in the SOS Children's Villages in Kavre to the Sherpa evacuees of Camp Hope in Kathmandu.
